Tasting - Barefoot Blueberry Fruitscato

Name of the wine: Barefoot Blueberry Fruitscato
variety of the grape(s) in the wine: Muscat
country of origin: United States
region of origin: Modesto, California
vintage year: not listed
price: $7

Review from online: "So delicious and Yummy. Mild smooth white wine undertones with fresh natural sweet blueberry taste. One glass is enough at a time. A good wine to share. Will definitely buy again." -kim37, (https://www.totalwine.com/wine/white-wine/muscatmoscato/barefoot-fruitscato-blueberry/p/235502750)

Wine Folly Notes: "Even sweeter than Moscato d’Asti are the dessert wines. There are many to try: French Muscat de Rivesaltes and Muscat de Beaumes de Venise; In southern Spain, there is a special Moscatel Sherry with rich with caramel flavors"(https://winefolly.com/deep-dive/moscato-wine/)

My review: The prettiest dark red wine I've seen yet. The blueberry aroma really leapt forward in this one, more reminiscent of a pie than the fruit itse;f. I didn't get to try it with chocolate/brownies, but I understand why it'd pair well together - both incredibly sweet. Enjoyed it a lot though!

Tasting - Sutter Home White Zinfandel

Name of the wine: Sutter Home White Zinfandel
variety of the grape(s) in the wine: Zinfandel
country of origin: United States
region of origin: California
vintage year: not listed
price: $6

Review from online: "Lovely strawberry, raspberry & cotton candy! A fun wine. Paired with a strawberry, spinach, feta & roasted walnut salad - the combination was amazing!!" - Madaleine, https://www.vivino.com/users/madaleine.brookes/reviews/144390152

Wine Folly notes (https://winefolly.com/grapes/zinfandel/):"White Zinfandel is a kind of rosé. It is sweet and has aromas of bright red fruits, such as strawberries, raspberries, cherries, and rich citrus. According to Sutter Home, a tank of their Oeil de Perdrix (a saignée rosé wine) got “stuck” in mid-fermentation. The yeasts died before eating all the sugars, and the wine was ruined!
However, when the winemaker tasted it, he found the bitterness in the wine had “disappeared” with the residual sugar. Better yet, customers loved it!"

My review: The wine is sweet (more melon-esque than berry-esque) throughout, and has a little kick at the end. It reminds me of the color orange? Very sweet, but not heavy. Did not eat this with food, but can see it pairing well with a pastry.

Tasting - Barefoot Pink Moscato

Name of the wine: Barefoot Pink Moscato
variety of the grape(s) in the wine: Muscat (+merlot?)
country of origin: United States
region of origin: Modesto, California
vintage year: not listed
price: ~$7

Review from online: "Just opened my second bottle. Shared with a friend, a none wine drinker, during an alfresco meal. She thoroughly enjoyed it. This wine just hits the right spot for sharing on a warm evening." - Les B, https://www.vivino.com/US/en/barefoot-pink-moscato/w/1823512#all_reviews

Wine Folly notes (https://winefolly.com/deep-dive/moscato-wine/): "Moscato wine is famous for its sweet flavors of peaches and orange blossom. The word Moscato (“moe-ska-toe”) is the Italian name for Muscat Blanc – one of the oldest wine grapes in the world! So, lets find out more about this fascinating wine."
"Pink Moscato is more of a marketing schtick than it is a classic Moscato wine style – even though it can be tasty! This wine is made with mostly Muscat grapes and usually dollup of Merlot to give it a ruby-pink color. Imagine the classic Moscato flavors with a touch of strawberry. If you love pink Moscato, you should definitely check out Brachetto d’Acqui."

My review: Sweet, a little fizz on the tongue, very fruity(specfically plum came out), very delicious :). Almost candy-like!

When had with fries, is less citrusy, brings out a rounder sweetness. I enjoyed this more than I thought!

When had with tangerine, the tangerine was sweeter, while the wine had more edge/ felt dryer. Was a little disappointed with the wine change, but quite happy with the tangerine.
